“I have worked in the direct service field for 15 years in various capacities & environments. It wasn’t until I was given the opportunity to work with Insight Respite Center and Turning Point Community Programs that I felt what the truth of helping others is. I have learned what it means to truly ‘sit with’ another human being, without judgments, and to listen, hear, and support them.  The mutual benefit that this brings is evident through the openness of their sharing.”

“It was only temporary
There was light and depth
Kind words and warm surroundings
Eleanor is a great addition
Taking it all in
Going on walks
Not too far
Relaxing is the beauty of it all
Those that help are all here.
Now it is time to load up all the gear
Always taking a piece of this home with me.”
– IRC Client Poem
