Turning Point Community Programs Hosts Its First Peer Support Specialists Conference!

Sacramento, CA — Turning Point Community Programs (TPCP) proudly hosted its first-ever Peer Support Specialists Conference on June 9, 2025—an internal event designed to celebrate the contributions of peer staff and deepen the organization’s investment in peer-led care.

Held in Sacramento, the event brought together peer support specialists from a range of TPCP programs for a full day of connection, learning, and recognition. The conference offered a dedicated space for peer professionals to reflect on their experiences, share insights, and build community around the unique strengths of lived experience.

“This conference was created to honor the essential role that peer support specialists play in our organization and in the recovery journeys of those we serve,” said Diana White, Chief Executive Officer of TPCP. “Our peer team brings empathy, authenticity, and hope—and this event was a meaningful way to recognize and uplift their work.”

The event was envisioned and led by Cindy Tuttle, whose passion for peer support and community inclusion guided every detail of the planning process. “Cindy’s leadership and heart were the driving force behind this event,” added White. “We are deeply grateful for her vision.”

TPCP also extends special thanks to Wendy Earle, Deborah Roberts, and Juliana Corona for their critical support in bringing the conference to life.

Peer support specialists are a core part of TPCP’s recovery model, drawing on their lived experiences to build trust, foster connection, and walk alongside members with authenticity and compassion. This event was one way to affirm their value and spotlight their impact across the organization.
