Transitional Support Services Chico (TSS Chico)
The Transitional Support Services Chico (TSS Chico) program provides community support services to adults living with co-occurring psychiatric disorders and developmental disabilities. All services support the successful integration in the community. Participants gain a sense of purpose, independence, and the knowledge that neither their developmental nor psychiatric disorder should limit their ability to lead meaningful lives.
Services provided will help reduce hospitalizations, incarcerations, homelessness, and emergency room visits. As needed, assistance with housing, counseling/therapy, community support, assessments for safety and well-being, a 24-hour warm line/crisis intervention, vocational/educational services, life skills training, psychiatric and nursing staff availability, medication outreach, regular visits, emergency psychiatric support, and linkage to community resources are available to help improve quality of life. A drop-in center, therapeutic groups, interactional activities, and member meetings are geared toward decreasing isolation and helping in the development of social, interpersonal, communication, and life skills.
Motivational interviewing, Harm Reduction, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Milestones of Recovery Scale will be some of the approaches used to help clients achieve their goals, and to monitor their progress as their risks are reduced.
Transitional Support Services Chico must first screen and refer individuals for treatment at TSS Chico.
