Turning Point Community Programs will begin hiring staff for its Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Adult Full Service Partnership program in Placer County.
This new Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) funded ACT program will serve 35 mentally ill adults who are at risk for or involved with the criminal justice system. It will also serve those at risk of psychiatric hospitalization, residential care or out-of-home placement. ACT programs use multidisciplinary teams including social workers, nurses, counselors, rehabilitation experts and psychiatrists. The ACT program will provide service coordination including: resources and referrals for substance abuse; medication services; housing assistance with supports; and employment assistance.
Turning Point uses a “whatever it takes” philosophy with a consumer-driven approach, also hiring those in recovery to mentor others, as well as diverse and culturally competent staff.
